LA GENTILE COMPANY


La Gentile s.r.l. was founded in 1964 by the Canova family, who still own and run the
company independently. We are one of the biggest processors of I.G.P. Piemonte Hazelnuts
and nuts in general. Our two production sites employ about 35 people and benefit from the most
advanced machinery that enables us to turn out more than 3,500 tonnes of produce per year,
including raw hazelnuts, hazelnut semifinished products, creams and different kinds and qualities
of nuts.

 


Our products are used as natural ingredients in Chocolate, Ice Cream, Sweets, Biscuits,
pastries and all Confectionery Items, by industrial manufacturers as well as traditional, small
firms. Part of our production is carried out according to specific Customer requirements using
the just in time system, usually within five days of the order being received.

 

 

 


The entire production chain undergoes strict quality, production and microbiological
controls. As proof of this we have been awarded the most important food certifications;
in fact since March 2008 we have been B.R.C., I.F.S. and ISO22000:2005 certified.
The main by-product from hazelnut processing is the shell, which we burn in place
of fossil fuels to provide our heating. This enables us to create a healthier production
area, which is also safer for the product.
